Ms Betsy Lai (Principal Assistant Secretary (Civil Service) Training and Development, Civil Service Bureau, Hong Kong)

Ms Lai is the head the Civil Service Training and Development Institute under the Civil Service Bureau of the Hong Kong SAR Government. Besides looking after the management of the Institute and overseeing about 90 training professionals, she is responsible for consultancy services for departments, training for high potential officers for succession, policies on performance management and training, and the development of a new civil service college. Before joining the Institute, Ms Lai has worked in a number of government bodies, such as the District Office, the Regional Council and the Independent Commission Against Corruption. Ms Lai has a Master Degree in Literary and Culture Studies from the University of Hong Kong, a Master Degree in Public Policy and Management from the University of London and a MBA from Kent University.

Dr Patrick Yun(Senior Lecturer, Department of Curriculum and Instruction,The Education University of Hong Kong)

He has been teaching in different higher education institutionsin Hong Kong and in the United Kingdom and he has been awarded several teachingperformance prizes to acknowledge his continuous efforts in pursuing teaching excellenceand educational leadership. Patrick has broad teaching and training interests and experienceand he has been teaching different levels of higher and vocational education programmesand courses which include Business Administration and Leadership, Information Systemsand e-Learning, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Economics, Accounting and Finance,Sociology, Adult Education, Professional and Vocational Education, and Pre-serviceTeachers Training.

Patrick’s research interests include outcomes and benefits of learning, disadvantaged learnersand informal education, e-learning curriculum design and implementation, professionaland vocation education and leadership, and youth leadership and capacity building.

Dr Jessie Chow (Lecturer, Faculty of Education, The University of Hong Kong)

Jessie M. L. Chow is a lecturer (experiential learning) in the Faculty of Education at the UniversityJessie M. L. Chow is a lecturer (experiential learning) in the Faculty of Education at the Universityof Hong Kong where she has been instrumental in the establishment of experientiallearning projects across undergraduate and postgraduate teacher education programs. Sheis a trained teacher and educational psychologist with extensive experience in working withschools and NGOs, and organizing service-learning projects. Her research focus is on experientialeducation and gifted education.

Prof. Siu King Chung (Associate Professor, School of Design, PolyU))

SIU, King-chung is an Associate Professor and programme leader of the newly launchedSIU, King-chung is an Associate Professor and programme leader of the newly launchedBA (Hons) Social Design Programme (since 2017) of the School of Design, The Hong KongPolytechnic University. He was also the Associate Dean (2015-2020) of the School. Between1995 and 2020, he led the BA (Hons) Art and Design in Education Programme. He is activelyinvolved in arts policy and art/design curriculum development in Hong Kong and served asthe Chairman of Hong Kong Society for Education in Art (1998-2001). SIU is also an art & designcommentator, an installation artist, an independent curator. He co-founded Designs YouDon't Know What to Do With Association. (1999) and Community Museum Project (2002),which endeavour to visualize and disseminate local knowledge and practices in form of exhibitions,publications, cultural tourism and urban pedagogy projects.

Ms Tracy Chan (Executive Director, Ednovators)

Since its establishment in 2015, Ednovatorshas been fostering partnerships, working collaboratively with local and overseas educationand cross-sector pioneers to facilitate dialogues, nurture education change-makers and incubateeducation innovations, with a clear goal to co-create the future of education thatrespects and responds to the needs of students in a changing society. Prior to Ednovators,she has worked with Dialogue in the Dark and other social enterprises to drive initiatives oneducation innovation and youth empowerment. She is passionate about realising a bettereducation to support the young generation to thrive and flourish in schools and beyond.

Ms Gwen Chan (Project Manager II, PolyU Jockey Club Design Institute for Social Innovation)

Gwen Chan is the Project Manager of the Jockey Club Design Institute for Social InnovationGwen Chan is the Project Manager of the Jockey Club Design Institute for Social Innovation(JCDISI), Hong Kong Polytechnic University. She has been working for JCDISI since 2013.After working in the social innovation sector for seven years, she is currently leading theSoInno Design Education Programme which aims to introduce social innovation and DesignThinking in the secondary school curriculum. Gwen has extensive experience in projectmanagement and strong passion for social innovation designs. She is committed to nurturingyoung leaders for the future and strengthening the mutual relations between differentstakeholders for the common good.

Mr Albert Tsang (Project Associate, PolyU Jockey Club Design Institute for Social Innovation) ​

A design researcher and educator with focus on social design, particularly concentrating onA design researcher and educator with focus on social design, particularly concentrating ondesign in education, participation through design, co-design, as well as action research asa way of gaining knowledge. Tsang has been doing research and teaching in various designinstitutes. Tsang has been visiting lecturer for School of Design at PolyU for the last decade,he has also been doing research in various research labs such as DESIS Lab at HKDI and thenon-profit organization Enable Foundation.

Tsang is now a project associate at JC.DISI, do research and curriculum design for designand social innovation education at secondary level. Tsang is an experienced facilitator fordesign workshop, he has facilitated in numerous design workshops with participants fromMainland China, United Kingdom, Denmark and Switzerland.

Mr Raymond Yuen (Assistant Principal, Shun Tak Fraternal Association Yung Yau College) ​

Mr Yuen is the founder of the first Mathematics Laboratory in Hong Kong secondary schools. He received the Fifth Outstanding IT Teacher Award. In recent years, he is active in promoting cross-disciplinary experiential learning. By incorporating “Design Thinking” into Mathematics & STEM Education and integrating Information Technology into learning and teaching, he is dedicated in facilitating education innovation in Hong Kong.

Ms Kay Chan (Product Designer) ​​

Kay Chan Wan Ki graduated from the School of Design of The Hong Kong Polytechnic UniversityKay Chan Wan Ki graduated from the School of Design of The Hong Kong Polytechnic Universitymajoring in industrial design in 2009. Currently a product designer specialising insustainable design, she takes part in art and design projects that promote community andenvironmental inclusion. Major projects are Cultural Backyard at Mody Road Garden for “CityDress Up: Seats . Together” (2017) and Tsuen Wan Yi Pei Square Playground as part of “Playis for the People” by Design Trust Futures Studio (2018). She also participated various localand overseas joint exhibitions, including “Design Co-CAMP”, “DXHK Bangkok Design Week”,“Hong Kong x ASM Community”, “Revive: Salted Fish”, “DMY International Design FestivalBerlin”, etc. Cultural Backyard at Mody Road Garden was awarded “DFA Design for AsiaAwards 2018- Merit Awards” and “Revive: Salted Fish” was awarded “Asia Design Prize2021- Gold Winner”.

Mr Kevin Siu (Architect, Co-Founder of AaaM Architects) ​​

Kevin Siu is the co-founder of AaaM (architecture as a medium) Architects and an adjunctKevin Siu is the co-founder of AaaM (architecture as a medium) Architects and an adjunctassistant professor at the Department of Architecture, Chu Hai College of Higher Educationin Hong Kong. With extensive experience in design education and professional practice inthe field of architecture, he popularises architecture and creative thinking in the generalpublic through column writing, curations and exhibitions and completing a wide range ofarchitectural projects.

Mr William Cheng (Senior Curriculum Development Officer, The Native-speaking English Teacher Section, Education Bureau, Hong Kong) ​​

William is currently Senior Curriculum Development Officer of the Native-Speaking EnglishWilliam is currently Senior Curriculum Development Officer of the Native-Speaking EnglishTeacher (NET) Section, Education Bureau. His major role is to assist the Section Head inoverseeing the implementation and evaluation of the Enhanced NET Scheme in SecondarySchools. He always enjoys pushing the boundary of English language teaching. He has beenactively tweaking and tinkering with pedagogical innovations and adapting them for thelocal context through a myriad of collaborative research and development projects. One ofhis team’s latest projects, not surprisingly, draws inspiration from Design Thinking, and heis eagerly looking forward to the moment when the project experience can be turned intopractical strategies for promoting Design Thinking.

Ms Selina Yau (Physics and Integrated Sciences Teacher, St. Stephen's Girls' College)​​

She is also responsible for designing and implementing cross-curricularprojects and F.2 Problem-Based Learning curriculum in the school. Under her encouragementand guidance, students of various forms participated actively and won prizesin many competitions relating real-life problems, including the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow,the CLP Energy Innovation Smart City Competition, the Youth Impact Award, the Innovate forFuture Competition, the SMART Community Hackathon and the Young Professional Exhibitionand Competition.
